The Julia Diaries

      Usually I am quite excited for the school year to start. I have so much to look forward to: a whole new schedule, new teachers, new subjects to learn, the potential of new/more friends is always exciting, but I don't know why, I am just not feeling it right now. Granted, we still have two weeks until school starts. It's kind of ridiculous how late we start this year. Hopefully, by the time that we near September 5th I'll be more amped for the year to begin.       I want to go school supply shopping so badly though. I don't even know what I want to get yet. Freshman year I did one folder for everything, which was stupid. Sophomore year I had folders for each class, which was also stupid. I want to use a binder this year, but I don't like the loud noise of it clicking and unclicking when you're trying to be slick about packing up when there's still five minutes of class left.      (Warning this is incredibly lame and I can't believe I am actually writing this)      Wow, so I said I would most likely not be doing film reviews, but look where we are.       Today I watched Descendants and Descendants 2 with my sister, after my SAT prep class. I don't really know why I clicked on the first movie originally, I guess I was always just curious. My Aunt Kenna always raved about the series to me, starting in 2015 when the first movie came out. Unfortunately at that time I wasn't able to watch it. I mean, I probably could, but I didn't want to pay money and I was too lazy to look up when it would be on Disney Channel. So, today was the day.       I thought it would be childish and weird for me to watch, and I'll admit during the first one I did feel a bit off watching it. I was like, "Julia, you're sixteen, this is meant for nine year olds what are you doing?" But I was eventually just completely...

     I've been wanting to start blogging again for the past couple of weeks. I used to blog a lot during the school year, mostly because it was part of a journalism project, but still, I enjoyed it. Sometimes, I'll admit it was stressful, but I think that was because I subjected myself to one genre. I ran a movie blog. (tryingtowatchmovies.blogspot.com) if you are interested. I liked writing and I liked movies, so I thought it would be the perfect fit. Unfortunately it became too much trying to watch a new movie every week and to have such strong opinions on a movie where I felt like I could come up with a decent review.       This is why I turned to this new blog. Here I plan to just write about whatever I want. Thoughts I've had regarding world events, school, people etc. Or I could keep up with the movie reviews, maybe start reviewing some albums or some lifestyle products. Who knows really.
